About US

Mihaella ("Ella") Bayla

I am the principal Mediator and Collaborative Law Attorney of True Collaborative Solutions.  I am licensed to practice law in Washington and California.  My goal is to bring  clarity and peace of mind for clients going through difficult life transitions.

After immigrating from Romania at the age of 12 years-old and spending my adolescent years in Bellevue, I earned a BA in Japanese and Political Science from the University of Washington and a JD from the University of California at Davis. My legal career began in California, focusing on federal tax controversy, estate planning, and elder law.

In 2020, I became a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP) with the Divorce Lending Association, and in 2022 I co-founded True Lending Company, a local mortgage brokerage focusing on divorce mortgage lending. Since then, I've helped hundreds of clients with divorce mortgage planning.

After training as a Collaborative Attorney and Mediator, I launched True Collaborative Solutions, a client-focused law firm aiming to help clients complete their divorce process out of courts.

I live in Edmonds with my husband, our two daughters, and our two toy-poodle mix rescue dogs.

A Member of the Collaborative Law Community

I am proud to support the efforts of other Mediators and Collaborative Law Professionals who work diligently to help their clients use my amicable and peaceful ways to resolve conflicts, especially when it comes to transitioning two a two-family household and ending their marriage.  I am a member of King County Collaborative Law, Collaborative Professionals of Washington, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.  Also, I am the Chair of King County Bar Association's Collaborative Law Section.

Dedicated to Making a Difference

I am believer in "doing well by doing good." In addition to providing free divorce mortgage planning help to hundreds of clients, I serve three non-profit boards that are support causes very close to my heart.  I am proud to be a board member of the Mother Attorney Mentoring Association ("MAMA Seattle"), the Washington First Responders Wills Clinic, and King County Bar Association's Collaborative Law Section.

Wholistic Approach

It is not enough to help a client get divorce. As a Mediator, Collaborative Law Attorney, and CDLP, I seek a wholistic solution that helps my client navigate their divorce process feeling empowered and supported.  I help my clients land on their feet - both financially and emotionally.  Often, knowing they have a safe and affordable place
